I became interested in Biblical prophecy at an early age – probably about 12 years old. I remember reading the book of Revelation in my bed before going to sleep and scaring myself to the point that I couldn’t go to sleep. I remember laying awake wondering if all this would happen in my lifetime, and doing the math in my head to determine how old I would be in the year 2000, a likely time that I imagined this might happen. I would be old – 42 years old! I’ve since adjusted my assessment of “old”, but my fascination with the end times – eschatology – has been a lifelong interest and pursuit. I’ve created this blog to capture some of my thoughts on end times events that have developed over the years.

As a starting point, I suggest you read my article “Events that must precede the rapture”. This was perhaps my most startling revelation from my pursuit of Biblical truth.  Most of you reading this will probably have a different viewpoint from the one I present in this article (assuming you are in the Unites States).  My reason for writing this blog is to encourage people to be good Bereans and search out the scriptures for themselves.  You will find that scripture references are the foundation for all my posts.

If you decide to comment on any posts, I would ask that you keep the discourse civil and clean and back up your assertions with scripture references that clearly show your position.  The reason for my insistence on scripture references is my belief that scripture holds the truth, and if you have truth from the Bible, I want to see it and learn from it.

While the Bible tells us what we need to know, there are other topics related to eschatology such as “what will the end times deception be?” and “what exactly is the mark of the beast?” and many others that seem to not be spelled out in specific detail in the Bible.  I’ve written one such post called “Stuff we don’t talk about in church” that you may find interesting that covers my conjectures on some of these topics.  I categorize these types of topics as “End Times Speculation”, but they still will be a possible fit within the overall framework that scripture does lay out.  Have fun with that one!

John 8:31-32 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

May the Way and the Truth and the Life that is Jesus Christ set us free!
